The Spanish army founds the first Guatemala City, after defeating the Maya Quiches in 1524.
You will see remains of palaces, plazas and Mayan ball courts. You will visit the beautiful town of Tecpán, which gave rise to the name “Guatemala”, walk through the local market and its 16th century church.
The ruins of Iximché are an excellent stop on the way to Lake Atitlán and Chichicastenango, they are located 1.5 hours from Guatemala City and Antigua.
Tecpán is a region with extensive agricultural plantations, parks and ecological farms with good restaurants that offer typical and artisan products.
We recommend tasting the famous tortillas with chancol cheese, smoked sausages, chicken broth, papaya pie and hot chocolate.
All our tours are totally private and flexible, specially designed for you. 👌
